GISconnector icon in the system tray

Here you can find information about the GISconnector icon in the system tray.

If you installed the GISconnector with the default settings the GISconnector for Excel starts automatically after you booted your computer. When the GISconnector launches the GISconnector-Icon in white appears in the system tray. If the GISconnector for Excel has not been started, there is no icon in the system tray visible and the GISconnector buttons of the ArcGIS and Excel Add-In are greyed out except "Create connection" and "About".

If this is the case please carry out the following:

Windows/Start All programs GI Geolabs GmbH "GISconnector for Excel"

After restarting the GISconnector for Excel the GISconnector-Icon in white is visible again in the system tray. After the restart both toolbars in ArcGIS and in Excel become active again. You will recognise that the buttons "Create connection", "Export data", "Manage connections",  "Settings", "Help" and "About" turned blue.

A right mouse click on the GISconnector icon in the system tray opens the context menu.
If you left-click the GISconnector icon the logging window will be opened.
